- You get a web based tool that guides you in the process of analyzing 2 similar Excel data. You will instantly know what are the differences, and if you are missing some data. No technical prerequisites needed.
- This tool is especially recommended for people who regularly manage Excel files (who doesn't) e.g. accountants, power users, data analysts.. Even as an individual, you might find this tool useful, for example, to manage and compare finances, inventories, or any type of list.
- You will access it through this website, so an internet connection is required. To authenticate you can use your email account and either a multi-factor authentication or not.
The data is matched based on column descriptions, regardless of their positions. Once you select the key column(s) that uniquely identify each of your rows (e.g., a supplier number, an ISBN for books, or a document number), the app takes over. It generates a report highlighting all discovered discrepancies. If the data matches, you'll see it in a green box; otherwise, differences will be displayed against a red background.
- No, we focus on user privacy and data protection, so we do not save any copies of your files online. The whole process is happening in the browser (client side).
In the basic account, you benefit from the core features of the tool, including fast file comparison and a clear online reporting. The advanced account adds more functionality, allowing you to leverage features such as the export of the match results in Xlsx, the data validation through a mapping table or a powerful Text Based Search. Expect more features to come, like reconciliation mode (to compare one row of a file against many others), and a special comparison that highlights deviations when values do not match.
- You can authenticate using various social connections. Alternatively you can use either your email and a password, or also opt for passwordless with username. In the latter case, you will receive a link via email to authenticate. We recommend enabling multi-factor authentication for enhanced security.
