2. Follow the steps on the left side

The process is very streightforward, and you can always understand where you are and what to do next just by looking the sidebar on the left.

  • The first step is to drag and drop the two files you want to match.
  • Once you then press "read files" , you can see a preview of both files for your convenience.
  • Now you should carefully select the Key column of your file:

This is a very important step, as the Key column is the column that will be used to match the rows of the two files.
In most of the cases, it is the first column of your file, as it should contain the unique identifier. An example of a Key column could be the email address of your users, or the item number of your products.
It can also be a combination of more columns, if you think it is the case. An example of that could be the combination of the product name and the product category, when you have more products with the same name in various categories.

  • Your are now ready to compare the files, so just press "Compare".
  • The results are presented in two tables, one for the statistic data, and one with the comparison results.

The statistic data will show you how many duplicates records has been found, based on the Key column-s you selected. More indicators will be added in the future. The last table will give you an overview of the data overall, and will highlight the differences between the two files.
You can use an advanced filter to show only the rows that are different, or only the rows that are the same. You can also download the results in a Xls file, so you can further analyze the data in Excel.
